Cute but wrong for me
This is an adorable pattern but so wrong for my face...
Another Flower Headband pattern by Susan B. Anderson and Berroco Vintage Chunky yarn. I used some leftover Frog Tree Alpaca for the blue part of the flower.

Semi-Instant Gratification
I used some Cascade Yarns Lana Grande and some size 15 and 17 needles to make myself the Weekend Pullover by Diane Saucy. It was a great way to experiment with some shaping and ease.

I did it!
Found this gorgeous yummy yarn on my "ladies retreat" up in Tofte at the end of June and designed this hat all by myself! The contrast in colors aren't the best but they are the team colors and will keep me warm during the hockey games.
Frog Tree Alpaca Sportweight yarn
Cast on 132 stitches and did 4 inches of 1x1 rib before 2 or 3 rows of purl (for turning). Then I did about 9.25 inches of patterns that I picked from lots of books. Turned it inside out, 3 needle bind off and sewed the 2 corners together on the outside. Time to wash and block but I LOVE IT!

Hunting Socks for Tom
Zitron Trekking 6 fach 6 ply yarn
My own pattern: Cast on 56 and then did 2 inches of ribbing before changing to stockinette. He wanted them tall for boots so started the heel when the leg was 10 inches from cast on. His foot is 10.5 inches so started toe when foot was 8.5 inches. First one is done and fits perfectly!

Some finishing!
We were done with hockey for the WEEKEND today at 1:00 pm and it is wonderful! I took the opportunity to finally finish up some projects that have been waiting for some attention.
Fingerless mitts were finished and I adore the ziggy zaggy-ness of them!
I also finished the last 6 rows of the thumb of these beauties!
....now to decide what to do with the rest of my weekend!

North Shore Hat
I made this Frog Tree Alpaca hat from yarn I purchased on our North Shore trip using a pattern written by one of my roomies. What are the odds of there being a yarn shop right across the street from our resort?

North Shore Trip
The last week of June some friends and I spent some glorious days relaxing on the north shore - it was chilly weather but we had a blast. It was 52F when we left our lodgings that late morning and 92F when we returned home!

Adorable bib!
Here's a link to an adorable bib pattern - this would be great as an addition to a baby hat for those Sibley East babies I knit for.... or for my favorite grand-nephew!
