For the 5th straight day this week the radio has been announcing school closings and delays due to either snow with high winds or severe temperature. Yesterday and today it was in the -22F range on the thermometer! Factor in the wind and BRRR.
Drake's feet have been so cold going outside to use the "facilities" that he leaves little blood spots on the deck when he comes back in. Yesterday morning he just stood on the side of the house by the air conditioner and kept alternating which 2 feet he was lifting. I had to coax him back in with a treat. His feet hurt so much he wanted to just keep standing there rather than walk back inside. Poor Baby!
The boys were home yesterday and Tom came up with putting socks on Drake's feet when he goes out. Such a creative mind!
I should really knit up some manly doggie socks for the next time (heaven forbid) the temperatures get this cold!

Mangyle
I finally started the Mangyle from Knitty.com that I've been wanting to make. I am making it with Cascade 220 yarn in the colors of the pattern..... brown, yellow and cream. I did most of the ribbing before I realized that I was suppose to start with the yellow. Oh well - I ripped it out and restarted but this time I didn't do twisted rib. I don't think the wool needs it.

Christmas Day
Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve was a quiet casual affair at our house. Great Grandma, Grandma A, Grandma and pa R and us. We had 2 home-made soups and an assortment of meats and cheeses for sandwiches. It was nice to have a quiet evening together.
